Why did being pregnant at 40 mean talking about aspirin?
I was 40, pregnant, exercising regularly and feeling perfectly healthy. Then came the antenatal risk assessment and a recommendation to take daily low-dose aspirin. Suddenly, my age seemed more important than how I actually felt. Looking back, I understand the medical reasoning, but I still question how we communicate pregnancy risks to older mothers. Because sometimes the problem isn’t the medicine. It’s the conversation.
