Independent editorial for life in the messy middle.
Saffron & Cyrus covers midlife, women’s health, fitness, family, culture and real-life experiences for readers who want useful, intelligent storytelling.
A different kind of women’s publication.
Saffron & Cyrus exists at the intersection of women’s lives, culture and modern wellbeing.
The editorial approach is personal without being confessional, informed without being clinical and honest without taking itself too seriously.
The focus is on the subjects women are actually thinking about, from getting stronger and coping with changing bodies to motherhood, identity, ambition, family, culture and what comes next.
The result is content designed to be useful, searchable and worth spending time with.
Former newspaper journalist. PR professional. Editorial writer.
I’m Saffron, a former newspaper journalist, PR professional and editorial writer based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
I understand both sides of the table: how journalists assess a story, how brands communicate their objectives and how quickly branded content loses credibility when it forgets the reader.
That means partnerships begin with the story. Why would a reader care? What is genuinely useful or interesting? And how can the brand be part of that conversation without taking it over?
Editorial credibility with commercial understanding.
Content shaped by a journalist’s eye and a PR professional’s understanding of brand objectives.
Midlife, fitness, motherhood, culture and women’s wellbeing are written from inside the story, not from a manufactured influencer persona.
Primarily women aged 35–65, with particular relevance to women in their 40s and 50s.
Editorial content is designed to remain useful beyond the initial campaign window.
Paid, gifted and commissioned work is clearly disclosed. The reader remains the priority.
The stories readers come here for.
Midlife
Confidence, identity, ambition, relationships, change and reinvention, without treating age as a problem that needs fixing.
Women’s health & wellbeing
Perimenopause, hormones, energy, sleep, mood and women’s health through lived experience and informed editorial.
Fitness & strength
Midlife fitness without punishment or perfection, from gym classes and strength training to confidence and motivation.
Family & motherhood
Parenting, family life and the particular experience of becoming a mum in midlife.
Culture & identity
Persian-British family life, food, traditions, music, belonging and the cultural details behind ordinary stories.
Products, rituals and wellness trends put to the test
First-person experiments and reviews built around a simple question: is this actually worth the time, effort or money?
Inquisitive women. Real lives.
Saffron & Cyrus is created primarily for women aged 35–65, with particular relevance to women in their 40s and 50s.
Readers include parents of school-age children, women navigating midlife and perimenopause, people interested in realistic fitness and wellbeing, and families drawn to culture, travel and everyday life.
They are not defined by their age. They are defined by their interests.
Ways we can work together.
Thoughtful branded features developed around a relevant editorial subject.
Experience-led product reviews and contextual mentions where the product genuinely fits.
Family, lifestyle, destination and hospitality partnerships built around genuine experience.
Supporting content that extends the editorial story rather than simply repeating it.
Strategic editorial, PR and copywriting support for organisations that need clear, credible storytelling.
Broader narratives connecting a brand message with an issue readers genuinely care about.
A partnership should feel like part of the publication.
I work selectively with brands whose products, places or ideas make sense for the readers already here.
Readers get the same thing whether a piece is commercial or not: context, experience, questions and a clear opinion.
