Saffron tries it

A woman smiling

If you’ve ever bought a resistance band because someone on TikTok swore it would “lift your glutes in 10 minutes”, only to ping yourself in the face, then you’re in the right place.

This is where I test the things midlife women are quietly wondering about. The helpful and the hopeful. The creams, gadgets, the supplements, cultural traditions, the remedies passed down through Persian aunties who absolutely know what they’re talking about.

I’m not an influencer, I’m not here to “sell the dream”, and I’m definitely not pretending my gym leggings never roll down during a squat. I’m just a 50-year-old woman trying to feel strong, healthy, and vaguely all together while juggling the emotional minefield that is perimenopause.

So when I try something, you get the truth. The “does this actually work” truth. The “is this worth your money or just another shiny promise” truth. Views are my own.

What you’ll find here

Gear that might save your workout

From trainers, to leggings that promise they won’t roll. I test them all so you don’t waste your hard-earned cash.

Supplements and health boosters

Collagen powders, magnesium sprays, protein blends, adaptogens, tinctures and teas. If midlife women are talking about it, I’m probably drinking it, swallowing it, or just massaging it somewhere.

Persian wellness traditions

The remedies my husband’s family has used for centuries. Saffron, rosewater, turmeric, cardamom, teas for sleep, pastes for aches, and that one remedy you’re told will cure everything from stress to heartbreak.

Fitness classes and challenges

Spin, Zumba, Body Combat, pilates reformer, cold plunges. I will try them all, often with a mixture of enthusiasm and mild fear.

The things I try so you don’t have to

Let’s just say not everything is a win. Some things go straight into the “never again” basket.

Why this space matters

Midlife women deserve reviews from someone who lives in a real body, not an airbrushed fantasy.
Someone who lifts weights but also lifts the washing basket and who doesn’t take herself too seriously.
