Today, I want to share with you the chaotic, yet incredibly beautiful journey of being a mum over 40, navigating sleepless nights, adorable gummy smiles, and the everyday adventures of raising Little C.
The Small Victories
As a proud maman in my 40s, I find joy in celebrating the small victories and embracing the imperfections that come with motherhood. It’s a rollercoaster ride filled with moments that make you question your sanity, but the joy that little C brings into my life is immeasurable.
My little bundle of energy is growing faster than I can keep up. It feels like just yesterday when I shared a snapshot of his seven-month-old cuteness on Twitter. His adorable gurgles, crawls, and that infectious gummy smile are my daily doses of happiness. I’m convinced that with the blink of an eye, he’ll have his first tooth, and I’ll be left wondering where the time went.
World Of Motherhood
Taking a leap into the world of motherhood at this stage in my life has been both rewarding and challenging. Bid farewell to my work colleagues, I embarked on the rollercoaster of maternity leave, and I haven’t looked back since. The months have brought their own set of challenges, but they’ve also gifted me with moments of sheer bliss.
Sure, the sleepless nights can be tough, and I’m still eagerly awaiting that elusive night of unbroken sleep since Cyrus entered our lives. But, in those quiet 2am feeds, as he looks up at me with those innocent eyes, a wave of strength and joy floods my tired soul. It’s a privilege, an honour, to be his maman.
Demands Of Babyhood
Juggling the demands of babyhood, managing my blog, and dealing with the ups and downs of life in general, I’ve learned to seize every special moment and milestone. My camera and video recorder have become my trusted companions, capturing the essence of our journey together.
To my fellow mummies out there, let me share a piece of advice from one exhausted, yet content, maman: take those pictures, record those videos, and embrace every moment, even on the ‘not so perfect’ days. When I find myself reminiscing about the challenges, I look back at the pictures and relive the joy that has filled my life since Cyrus entered it.
Not So Perfect Days
Those ‘not so perfect’ days transform into the most perfect memories. Whether it’s the mess and chaos of baby food splattered everywhere or the giggles that echo through the house, these are the moments that define the beauty of motherhood.
Through the sleepless nights and nappy changes, I’ve discovered that laughter is the best medicine. As a new mum over 40, I’ve mastered the art of finding humour in the chaos, and it’s this ability to laugh at the unpredictability of life that has made my journey with Little C truly unforgettable.
So here’s to celebrating every day as a new mum over 40, cherishing the imperfect moments, and finding humour in the chaos. Because in the end, even the ‘not so perfect’ days the most perfect of all.
