While issues surrounding mental health, and access to treatments, is becoming more commonplace in society, there’s still an undue stigma that prevents millions from seeking the help they so desperately need.
In his new book, Mr Gresty reaches out to touch the hearts and minds of children, so they come to accept that struggling with mental health is a reason to speak up, shout from the rooftops and get the help that is now so readily available.
‘One for Sorrow’ is named after the nursery rhyme and fuses great illustrations and an immersive story about a puzzled magpie called Sorrow who sets off on a journey to find his lost Joy.
The 32-page book is designed to help both parents and careers support children aged four to seven in understanding their own emotions and those around them.
At the end of the day, it’s vital we teach children to be aware of their mental health and not shy away from getting help if they need it.
